(Maybe I inadvertently activate it when I change positions? Not sure.) That is a great tip, I didn't know it, thank you so much! That will really help.īut even in theater mode, the screen also seems to come on by itself a few times during the night. Some of you here said that I could wake the watch by slowly turning the dial to the desired level of brightness. Part of the problem is my fault: if I wake up during the night I might check my watch, and it's very bright. I use theater mode every night without fail, but still have this problem. Thanks so much for all your replies, I appreciate them. There doesn't seem to be any similar option for making AW dimmer. I came to this forum years ago and learned from some of you that you can make the iPhone display even dimmer than the lowest brightness setting by going into accessibility and setting zoom, then you can invoke it on the fly by triple-pressing the home button (or, on iPhone X, the side button). When I was a new iPhone owner, I had the same complaint about the iPhone's screen, though the brightness settings on iPhone have much more range: the lowest setting is much dimmer than the brightest setting. In AW brightness settings, there are only 3 levels of brightness to choose from, and the lowest brightness setting isn't much dimmer than the highest brightness setting.
But at night in a dark room, you'd think auto-dimming would be like "this is what I was made for!", but auto-dimming hardly dims my AW in a dark room, if at all. I can see my AW's auto-dimming work some times (mostly during the daytime). I know AW has auto-dimming that is always on (unlike iPhone where you can turn it off if you want). Yet, it's still quite bright at night with all the lights off.
I turn the brightness down to the lowest setting and put AW in movie theater mode. I wear my AW to bed for sleep tracking with the Autosleep app.
